Over the last year, juice cleanses have gained a lot of popularity. People say they do it for a lot of reasons.
For some, it helps "reset" their body. For others, it shrinks their stomach so they end up eating less after the cleanse is done. Even more think that a juice cleanse will help literally cleanse the body of toxins or even give their liver a break.
How much of that is true, exactly?
Although everyone is different, there are a few basic and undeniable principles that go along with a juice cleanse.
When you juice, you can certainly get some amazing nutrients, but a lot of times you end up actively leaving out some of the best parts of those fruits and veggies--like fiber and protein.
That seems obvious, right? Does it still flush out your toxins? Does it really reset your blood sugar like some people believe?
