It can be hard to decide what to make for dinner when you don't have the time, energy, or willpower to resist the convenience of takeout and grab-'n-go sandwiches--especially when it's cold outside!
Still, wouldn't it be nice to come home from a long day of work, play, meetings, and kids to a nice, warm bowl of homemade chili? Does it sound too good to be true?
It's not! You can have that nice bowl of chili and still maintain your diet.
Thanks to the Domestic Geek, there's even a chili recipe that uses chicken instead of the usual ground beef, and no tomatoes. It's called White Chicken Chili--the perfect recipe if you want to mix it up a little bit!
She also shares a recipe for a very traditional chili with beef and beans, as well as a vegetable vegetarian chili! No matter which one you decide, you'll get a ton of protein, a lot of fiber, and a warm belly.
Aside from the ingredients you would need for the chili you want, you just need a dutch oven or a large pot. Once you have all the ingredients in your pot, you simmer it anywhere from 45 minutes to three hours--the longer it simmers, the better it will taste!
