Most women, unless they have a lot of facial hair, don't shave their faces. Maybe you get a well-timed lip wax here and there, but other than that, there isn't really a reason to shave your face.
Even if you don’t have any visible facial hair, or you already take care of it with your monthly lip wax, there are still benefits to shaving your face!
Female face shaving has been a tradition as far back as Cleopatra. Great stars like Elizabeth Taylor and Marilyn Monroe used it, too, and not because they secretly had a horrifying facial hair problem.
No, shaving your face just gives your skin the extra lift it needs to look radiant again. Shaving the tiny hairs on your face helps remove the dead skin cells, exfoliate, and it helps your moisturizer and other skin products absorb into your skin with ease.
Not only that, but if you’re a makeup wearer, it makes your foundation easier to put on, blend, and take off.

But don’t go reaching for the leg razor. Even though Marilyn and Elizabeth used plain straight razors, the good news is that we have 50 or so more years of development than they did. Now there are specialized razors that look similar to brow trimmers that have been developed just for this job.
If you’re looking to buy a face shaver, look for “brow planers,” or “brow razors.” They all serve the same purpose.
Then, pull your skin taut, and shave with the grain (this is the most important part!) in short, downward strokes. Then, use a gentle moisturizer afterwards so your skin doesn’t get too dry.
If you don’t like keeping it up, there’s no worry—the hair won’t grow back thicker and darker. That myth is just as untrue for your face as it is for your legs.
So give it a shot! This may be your road to smoother, softer skin.
