Always on the lookout for the newest salmonella outbreak? Look no further.

These cucumbers imported from Mexico have killed one person and caused illness in nearly 300 people.

To be more specific, 285 people have been infected, and 53 of those people infected have been hospitalized.

And these cucumbers went everywhere. Arizona and California have the most infections, with 60 and 51 respectively, and Utah has had 30. The rest are spread out over 24 other states.

The FDA believes the salmonella infection is related to cucumbers imported and distributed by Andrew & Williamson Fresh Produce.

Those who were surveyed by the CDC and FDA reported falling ill a week after eating cucumbers.

Andrew & Williamson Fresh Produce recalled all of their cucumbers sold between August 1st and September 3rd, under the “Limited Edition” label.

However, it’s probably just best to stay away from cucumbers for a little while, according to the California Department of Public Health.

“It is unlikely that cucumbers in retail grocery stores will have any identifying brand information. [We] recommend that consumers check with their grocer to determine if the cucumbers they purchased are impacted by this warning,” said a representative from the California Department of Public Health.

People affected are being infected with salmonella poona. Just as a reminder, salmonella infections can include symptoms such as diarrhea, fever, and abdominal pain. It’s also possible (though rare) that the infection can spread from the intestine to the bloodstream. Make sure you see a doctor if you think you have salmonella.
