So let’s preface this by saying: there are no healthy commercially sold candies. Candy Is sugar and fat by nature.
But it’s pretty ridiculous to think that you’re not going to eat ANY candy this holiday.
There’s nothing wrong with a few indulgences, especially around Halloween. And anyway, you want to feel better about the candy you’re giving to kids.
So why not take a look at which ones are the least offensive for you?
- Tootsie Rolls and Tootsie Pops: these candies are actually pretty inoffensive, and since I don’t know anyone who can handle a full Tootsie Roll, the mini or pop versions should work just fine. Three mini Tootsie Rolls are only 70 calories and 1.5 grams of fat, and the Tootsie Pops are 60 calories and 0 grams of fat.
- Kit Kats: These wafer candies are low in fat and calories, making them a perfect choice. A mini-bar only has 70 calories and 3.2 grams of fat. Thank the crispy wafer for the low calorie and fat content!
- 3 Musketeers: These are notorious for having no fat in them, and for being only 50 calories per two minibars. They’re the most guilt-free candy out there!
- Jolly Ranchers: You only need one or two of these to satisfy your sugar craving, since they’re so sweet and you have to suck on them to eat them. Go ahead and indulge! They’re only 47 calories for two of them.
- Air Heads: Mini Air Heads are only 50 calories a pop, and their sour taffy-like flavor is sure to leave you satisfied if you’re not in the mood for chocolate.
You’ll notice that none of the candies have their sugar content listed, because none of these candies have an ideal sugar content.
But we all must make compromises for Halloween.
