For a while, Colin Farrell may have been one of the most public celebrities who smoked.

Until now, that is.

That’s right, he’s recently quit smoking, but his methods weren’t exactly traditional.

The actor has been smoking for quite some time, so it’s not like it could have been easy for him, right?

Well, everyone has their methods. My mother, for example, quit smoking by eating a McDonald’s hamburger whenever she craved a cigarette. Her addiction was gone in weeks.

Some people quit cold turkey, some people gradually wean themselves off of them, or maybe use a nicotine gum or patch.

But Colin Farrell’s story may even be weirder than my mother’s.

He told Men’s Health Magazine: “I wrote a breakup letter to the Spirit of Tobacco. I got a frying pan and tossed the letter with a load of tobacco, put some paraffin over it, and lit a match that sent a big, wallowing cloud up into the sky. Then I didn’t have a cigarette for another two years.”

Uh…what?

That’s right, he basically burned a sacrificial pyre in order to get rid of his cigarette addiction. And it WORKED!

Of course, this isn’t your traditional nicotine patch method to quit smoking. That means it probably won’t work for everyone.

But it just goes to show, if it works for you then you should do it!

This comes shortly after news that the news that cigarettes can’t be labeled as “all-natural” anymore, as it’s a way that cigarette companies have been trying to retain an audience. “All-natural” makes them sound healthy, when in fact there is no such thing as a healthy cigarette.

How did you quit smoking?
