Twenty-one-year-old Zoey Wright was diagnosed with ulcerative colitis after experiencing extreme and unaccountable weight loss, exhaustion, and constant physical pain for weeks on end.
After two years of deep consideration, Zoey opted to receive a colectomy, a surgical procedure which created a new artificial opening for her intestines in order to alleviate the symptoms of her chronic disorder.
While it would have been easy to simply lie down and take what life threw at her, Zoey Wright chose to show her strength – both literally and figuratively – by continuing in her training to become a bodybuilder.
Finally, after ten months of training, she entered into a competition.
She knew that the bikini provided for her for the competition would do nothing to cover the new addition to her body, her colectomy bag, but not even this could stop her.
In the end, she won the contest, and was even qualified to take part in the world bodybuilding championships.
Zoey has a goal to show others who suffer from chronic diseases that these obstacles do not have to prevent them from reaching out for their dreams.
Through her continued bodybuilding career, she is able to put her success on show for others, an inspiration to those who have been limited by their own bodies, but who still have hopes and wishes which they strive to achieve on a daily basis.
