This mom didn’t want to film her baby having a coughing fit, but sometimes it’s necessary to do things you don’t want to do.

Rebecca Harreman, mother to a 4-month-old child suffering from pertussis, posted this video to her Facebook, stating that this coughing fit was a “good” one compared to other ones he’s suffered.

Whooping cough can last for up to 100 days in babies, and though her child got vaccinated after contracting the disease, his bout is still pretty bad.

So she decided to show to the world what the risks are when you don’t vaccinate yourself or your children—infants like little Jus get hurt.

From the Facebook video:

“I don’t care whether you want to try and prove to me that vaccinations and herd immunities don’t work. I don’t care that vaccinations have side effects, because every person in this world reacts differently to all types of food, products, and medicines. I could not care less, even if it is ever proven one day that they don’t work.

“You know why? Because at least at the end of the day I tried to do something to prevent this and not sit there and say ‘oh well, vaccinations don't work so I'll just sit here and do nothing’... because doing nothing goes against every cell in my body as a mother. Doing nothing is just wrong.”

Watch this poor baby struggle below, and remember to stay up to date on vaccinations for you and your children.
