Typically, most health-conscious people try to avoid salt in their diets.

Recently, however, nutritionists have been advocating the health benefits of Himalayan pink salt.

Unlike traditional table salt, pink salt is all-natural and unprocessed, and consists of completely different minerals which are, in fact, beneficial to your well-being.

Not only is it a great seasoning to any dish, pink salt is also a great electrolyte supplement when mixed with water–think sports drink without all the sugar and coloring.

According to some nutritionists, pink salt contains a diverse mix of trace minerals that replenishes the body with vital electrolytes.

Whenever you work out or sweat excessively, you are depleting your body of minerals that need to be replaced.

A pink salt water sole–or fully saturated salt water–is a great way to quickly replenish lost electrolytes.

To make a sole, simply fill a container one-quarter of the way with pink salt, add water, and shake to dissolve. Let the solution sit over night to fully absorb the salt.

In the morning, there should be some residual salt at the bottom–that means it’s saturated.

Add about one teaspoon of the salt water mixture to a fresh glass of water or smoothie, and enjoy! Provide your body with the minerals it craves, and discover why more and more people are trading in the table salt for Himalayan pink salt.
