Nothing is more embarrassing than bathroom odors, and it only gets worse if you let the smell linger in your house for hours on end.

Depending on how many people share a bathroom in your house, you may not even be able to get through a day of cleaning before that funky smell comes creeping back in.

More often than not, the foul odor is coming from your toilet, so you’ll have to go straight to the source if you want to eliminate it for good.

There are plenty of different pricey cleaners you can buy at the store to fix this problem, but why spend money when you have everything you need waiting in your pantry?

Here’s all you need to create your very own multi-purpose bathroom cleaner:

  • White Vinegar
  • Baking Soda
  • Lemon Juice
  • Measuring Cup
  • Washcloth
  • Old Toothbrush

Let’s start by making a simple paste to clean off all that gunk and leftover residue on and around your dirty toilet.

According to Fabulessly Frugal, you can make a cleaning paste by combining baking soda and lemon juice—the consistency should look a little like cake batter.

After slathering the cleaner on all the dirty spots around your toilet, let the solution sit for about 15 minutes.

Next, pour white vinegar on a toothbrush and start scrubbing the gunk off from the toilet. Remove any extra residue with a clean wash cloth!

If there’s a gross smell coming from your toilet tank, try pouring ½ cup of white vinegar directly into the tank and flush after about 15 minutes.

Also, if you happen to have a lemon leftover, squeeze the juice directly into the toilet bowl to eliminate absolutely every unsettling odor!
