A 19-year-old with self-described “body blindness” shed nearly 80 pounds after realizing she weighed more than 225 pounds.

Chloe McGuinness, from Liverpool, claims it never occurred to her that she weighed more than her friends, even though she couldn’t fit into their clothes.

According to The Daily Mail, at more than 225 pounds, Chloe’s ankles and knees began to suffer, leaving her feeling weak and tired.

“I used to work at McDonalds and would have a five piece chicken meal and cheeseburger in one sitting,” she said. “I'd snack on anything I could get my hands on - crisps, chocolate and kebabs.”

Although Chloe was convinced she was a size 14 like her friends, in reality she was actually a size 22.

Still, the outgoing teen had no idea just how seriously her weight was affecting her health until her grandfather passed away in June 2015.

Realizing she was a comfort eater, Chloe decided to make a major lifestyle change to help distract herself from the grief of losing her grandfather.

“I realised I was eating my feelings and I had to do something about it,” she said. “When I stepped on the scales for the first time it gave me a real reality check.”

Ever since starting her weight-loss journey, Chloe finally feels more confident and energetic than ever before.

Now a size 10, Chloe exercises regularly and has decided to trade in her Happy Meals for healthier options, like stir-frys and fresh fruit.

“I feel like a different person now. Before I didn't have any energy to go out,” she said. “I have a boyfriend now. I wouldn't have had the confidence to meet him before.”
