A Los Angeles-based mother-of-two decided, after many years of debate, to get her breasts augmented.
Emily remembers that she’d been waiting for her breasts to come in since the fifth grade. Her mother always reassured her that once she’d had kids, small breasts would no longer be a worry.
But her mother’s prediction never came true.
So when Emily turned 32, she finally decided that she would get breast implants. She clarified that she wasn’t “hoping for big boobs or cleavage.” She just wanted “to look normal.”
The moment Emily came out of the procedure though, she knew something was wrong.
Her new breasts were huge, “hard and high and wide-set.” Scar tissue immediately began forming within them, and Emily began to run a high fever. It didn’t take long for her breasts to become red with an obvious infection.
Emily had no choice but to return to the doctor to get her implants removed.
Her problems didn’t end there.
Two weeks after Emily had the procedure undone, she noticed that her breasts were beginning to get “harder and harder.” The flesh beneath them was “rippling,” and her nipples began to point downwards. At their worst state, Emily claimed, “They looked like crab claws!”
Unfortunately, she wasn’t able to undergo the procedure that would return her breasts to their original state for a long while. As it turns out, Emily had become pregnant, so the doctors wanted to hold off on any cosmetic procedures.
Emily ended up miscarrying and fell into a bout of depression. “I didn’t have my surgery. I wasn’t pregnant. I really felt like I had lost everything,” Emily recalled, “But as a way of healing myself I was determined to get this surgery.”
Now, finally, after many months of waiting, Emily has finally returned her breasts to their original state. “I feel good,” she now says. “I feel really good. A lot better than I have in a long time.”
