Kanya Sesser, 23, is a professional model and actress who enjoys surfing, snowboarding, skateboarding, and running — and she doesn’t have any legs.

Sesser was born without any legs. Potentially because of this condition she was abandoned in front of a Buddhist temple in Thailand (her birth country) when she was just weeks old.

When she turned five, Sesser was adopted by a family in the United States.

Since then, her life has only continued to climb upwards.

Sesser has taught herself how to get around on a skateboard (She never uses a wheelchair.) and has also learned how to surf and snowboard.

When she was 15, she began to model for various sports brands. Slowly but surely, she transitioned into also modeling for lingerie companies.

“I love showing people what beauty can look like,” she explained of her decision to go into modeling, despite her unique appearance. “These images show my strength.”

Although models are stereotypically known for having long legs, Sesser works against that image by saying, “I'm different and that is sexy, I don't need legs to feel sexy.”

Sesser continues to push herself further and further. She’s learning how to do (more) tricks on her skateboard and ride a mono-ski. Her next major goal: compete in the 2018 winter Paralympics in South Korea.

We have no doubt that this woman will go extremely far in life. Her positive attitude on herself and her life ("I'm very honest, I'm real — I'm never going to behave different to anyone. This is just who I am.”) is a force to be reckoned with. We look forward to seeing everything she will accomplish in the years to come.
