On Tuesday, December 13, 2016, Cuisinart has issued an official recall on their website of over 8 million food processors they sold between July 1996 and December 2015.
Cuisinart customers have recently been contacting the company, saying that the blades in their food processors are cracking, and the blade shards are getting mixed in with their processed foods.
The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission and Conair released a statement explaining that over time, the blades in their food processors can weaken, and yes, break off over time.
These shards have turned up in the processed foods of at least 69 customers, 30 of whom suffered mouth and/or tooth injuries because they actually ate the blade before they discovered it.
Cuisinart has requested that all of their customers stop using their Cuisinart food processors and contact the company for replacement blades or replacement products.
You can find complete instructions for how to return or replace your products here.
If you use Cuisinart kitchen products, please be careful!
