A Colorado mom in labor was left devastated when somebody stole her car while she was getting ready to head to the hospital.

According to The Denver Channel, Codie Rayl and her boyfriend had just finished loading their car with her overnight bag, a bag for her 2-year-old son, and a new car seat for their soon-to-be daughter, when their silver Chrysler 300 was stolen around 7 p.m. at the Lamar Station Apartments.

Rayl says that while her boyfriend was running inside to grab her son, they noticed somebody taking off in her car.

Although Rayl’s boyfriend attempted to chase down the suspect while yelling that his girlfriend was in labor, he was quickly thrown away from the car by the driver.

According to The Denver Channel, Rayl was forced to call 911 and wait for paramedics to take her and her son to the hospital.

Unfortunately, because she was only 3cm dilated, Rayl was quickly sent back home and told to return when her contractions become more frequent.

However, now that she doesn’t have a car, Rayl is terrified that she won’t be able to get back to the hospital in time once it is time to deliver her baby girl.

“All of our kids’ things were in the car – my baby girl’s brand new car seat we were finally able to afford, her first outfits and her diaper bag and new bottles and Pampers,” Rayl explained. “They took everything.”
