Charity LeBlanc is a graphic designer and makeup artist who first began practicing yoga after the first of her first son, Oakley. She wanted to get back in shape and figured yoga would be a simple way to do so.
It wasn’t long until she realized how difficult it would be, particularly with a young child running around, asking for her attention constantly.
LeBlanc decided then that it would be easiest for her to balance her mommy time with her yoga time by simply combining the two. She’d practice yoga, and she’d let her son hang out with her, occasionally using her body as a “moving jungle gym.”
Since then, LeBlanc has welcomed a second child, a daughter called Felicity. LeBlanc knew, even before Felicity was born, that she wanted her daughter to join in on her and Oakley’s yoga fun.
It’s taken two years for Felicity to grow strong enough and build up enough trust to join in, but the resulting photos are so worth the wait.
LeBlanc admits, there have been times when all three of them have gone tumbling to the ground when a pose has gone wrong, but nothing terrible has ever happened during these accidents. “Anything that’s worth doing has some elements of danger,” LeBlanc laughed.
She avoids having injuries happen by taking the practice slow, and gradually working her and her children’s way up to the more complex poses they do together, and thus far, it’s been incredibly successful.
“My son is learning to trust me and my daughter is developing great motor skills and muscle control for her age. They’re learning how to be strong and healthy while having fun,” she said.
Even though we’re not sure we’ll ever be as cool as this mom – and family, since Dad also joins every now and then! – we can’t wait to see future photos of them all doing their amazing acroyoga poses together.
