Marina Adams, 44 years old, was five months pregnant with a child when her former boyfriend sexually assaulted her at her home in Bognor Regis, West Sussex, according to SWNS News.

Adams dumped the former lover, who’s also the father of the child, after finding out that he had two passports and had been lying about his personal information, such as his age and the legality of his status as an immigrant.

Alexander Volynets, 39 years old, was discovered by Adams as an illegal immigrant living in London. She met Volynets through an online dating site called love.ru. They were only going out for two months when Adams got pregnant.

After his secrets were revealed, Adams ended the relationship with him. She, however, decided that she will keep carrying the child.

After the break-up, Volynets kept on calling her during late at night. He also sent her text messages and emails that average to about 100 per hour.

Adams said, “I worry he will come back to Britain. At the back of my mind I think, if he has done it once he could do it again. If he was in this country again I would be absolutely terrified. I would have to move to a different country or somewhere he couldn’t find me.

She continued, “I would be absolutely petrified. I dread to think what would happen. I feared for my life. He said he was going to kill me and I thought he would. He is mentally unstable. He is dangerous and ruthless.”

Adams even recalled one time when she discovered that he was lurking in her living room. Volynets apparently managed to remove the bolts from her back door. She said that he did this in order to constantly check on her in case she started seeing another man.

Adams added, “The internet is an open window. You could meet the love of your life or you could meet someone like who I met. You don’t know who is behind the screen.”

Volynets, who worked as a window fitter, was originally from Ukraine. He sexually assaulted Adams twice in her bedroom even though he knew that she’s carrying his child. Volynets was convicted to six years in prison. He was deported back to his home country to serve his sentence.

Adams provided details on what happened during the 15-hour trial. She shared with SWNS, “He knocked on the door. I had expected that he might come over and I thought we might deal with it once and for all. But instead of that, he just pushed himself in, threw my phone out of my hand and shoved me against the wall.

“Then he put this hand grenade right up to my face and said, ‘Are you happy now?’, said Marina, who had no idea the grenade was a realistic replica at the time. He said, ‘Are you smiling now? Do you think it’s funny now?’ Then he asked, ‘How can you do this? I love you. How can you do this, you horrible bitch?’

“It went round and round in circles, he was going on and on and on and was holding the grenade the whole time. I just thought, ‘Please go away.’ Then he told me to go upstairs. He raped me in my bedroom. He told me not to struggle. He said, ‘You won’t struggle because you will lose your baby.’

“He was very calm and was giving orders but he had these mad eyes. I tried to push him off but he is tall and strong – I had absolutely no chance. He didn’t leave until the next morning. He told me he was going to keep doing it. He said, ‘I will keep coming back and doing what I’m doing until you get used to it.'”

Adams, who was born in Russia and moved to UK when she was around 20 years old, is now a mother of two children. She initially reported Volynets to the police, but she said that her warnings were ignored.

Volynets raped Adams at night and the following morning during the 15 hours that he held her hostage. He even threatened to blow the house up if she didn’t comply to what he wanted. The terrible incident happened on January 29, 2010.

Adams said that she had forgiven him. She said, “A two-month mistake ruined three years of my life. In the end, he was in jail but I was serving the sentence. I was frightened, paranoid and a nervous wreck. I eventually decided to forgive him and this has definitely made me a stronger person. He has no power over me anymore.”
