A mom was shocked when she found out that the man she’d been bringing along with her children is a registered sex offender, according to The Sun.
The mom, who remained unnamed, brought her new boyfriend, Robert Wynn, out for a picnic with her children. When she searched his name on Google one time, she discovered that Wynn, who’s 30 years old, is reportedly a pedophile.
The mom met Wynn while she was playing games online. However, she had no clue that Wynn was jailed three times already for sex offenses.
She said that his username is “Robster.” Their relationship managed to develop even though they haven’t really met yet.
The mom immediately told him that she already has four children. Phillip Evans, prosecutor, said, “He disclosed he was a normal lad from Hull, and that attracted her because she had lived in Hull as a teenager.”
After that, she and Wynn planned to meet at a railway station. Evans said that it was “so successful… The defendant was invited back for tea.”
Wynn gave his real name and age to the mom. However, he didn’t speak one word about his past sex offenses. So far, Wynn has nine offenses under his name. They all involved sex crimes, including grooming and distributing indecent photographs.
His charges got him sentenced for a year and a half in jail at a Scottish court in 2008. He was already a subject to a sexual offenses prevention order for ten years. He broke this order in 2014. It bars Wynn from having any contact with children under the age of 16, without the informed consent of a parent or guardian, according to Hull Daily Mail.
Evans said that the mother was keen to point out that the children only became involved when she was ready to introduce them to the defendant.” She thought that she didn’t have anything to worry about.
Evans said, “She points out that she had never allowed the defendant to have unsupervised contact with the children. She has questioned her children and no disclosures have been made by any of them of improper conduct by the defendant towards them."
After the mom notified the police, officers investigated Wynn. They found 30 indecent photographs of children on his phone. He admitted to this possession.
David Godfrey, Wynn’s barrister, said that his client admitted that he should’ve said something about his past. He said, “At some point, the penny’s going to have to drop. He’s not an unintelligent man, he’s an articulate man.”
Wynn was sentenced, again, for 16 months.
