A pug puppy in Brazil found itself in a very tight place after it apparently crawled through a very narrow pipe and got stuck for six hours, the New York Post reports.

Thankfully, the pug didn’t suffer any painful wounds or injuries. The six months old pug puppy was rescued by Sao Paulo Municipal Guards. The pug apparently fell into the pipe. The pipe in question was going through construction. The incident happened in Guaira.

Caters News Agency / New York Post

Kawahisa Yoshioka, the pug puppy’s owner, told the Caters News Agency, “The pup was whining a lot as it was so frightened. In the beginning, I thought I could get him out myself by pushing my hand down the tube and pulling him out but we couldn’t persuade him to move.”

Yoshioka continued, “We weren’t even sure exactly where he was inside called some friends to help me but we couldn’t grab him. I was terrified that he was going to die and was almost crying with panic when he stopped making any noise.”

Yoshioka tried to fish her puppy out of the pipe, but she failed quite miserably. When the puppy stopped making any noise, that’s when she got scared even worse.

So, if a puppy is stuck inside a very narrow pipe, who are you gonna call? Well, Yoshioka called the Sao Paulo Municipal Civil Guards. They fortunately managed to rescue the pug puppy.

Yoshioka named her cute little pug puppy, Donatello. The pug was not named after the early Renaissance sculptor from Florence who worked with a variety of materials such as bronze, stone, clay, and wax.

The puppy was named after one of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. These anthropomorphic beings live in the sewer and eat pizza all the time. Donatello, the smart guy of the group, dons a purple mask and wields a bo staff.

Amarildo Aparecido dos Santos, a Civil Guard, told the Caters News Agency, “After several attempts, they discovered the animal had been washed further down and was actually in an area located outside in the garden.”

The civil guards decided to dig a hole in the backyard to better locate the puppy. When they found the sweet spot, they saw the puppy. But before rescuing it, of course, a photo has to be taken.

Yoshioka told the Caters News Agency, “This could have been a tragic outcome. But the municipal guards were absolutely amazing and they were determined to rescue the animal alive.”

Now that Donatello, the pug puppy who got stuck inside a drain pipe, was saved. We can all stare and fawn over the cute photo of the pug looking sad and terrified.
