When Katie Lynne’s mother died all of a sudden in 2013, she finally decided that she wanted to live longer and healthier. Katie, who’s a registered nurse based in Florida, struggled with her weight due to her mother’s death. She reached 283 pounds at most, and her wake-up call made her realize that enough is enough.
According to Cosmopolitan, Katie decided to have a gastric sleeve surgery for she fears that she would end up just like some of her patients who struggled with obesity. The surgical procedure, however, gave her pneumonia and a temporary kidney failure. She fortunately recovered and lost a total of 130 pounds in the process within a year.
Katie’s dedication to her reduction of her food portions and amplification of her exercise significantly helped in her weight loss.
The weight loss, however, resulted to excess of skin on her body. So, Katie proceeded to have skin removal surgery as well as a breast lift just last January. She wrote in an Instagram post: “It wasn’t until the day after my plastic surgery that I realized how much I had been missing out on in life.”
Then, she posted two photos of her hands taken in different years to show how her fingers had transformed from fuller to more slender set. She wrote as the caption: “I was driving home today and looked down to realize I have skinny fingers. My hands look totally different now!”
Four days ago, she posted a photo to reintroduce herself to her new followers. She wrote: “I've had a lot of new followers recently inquiring about my story so I figured I would reintroduce myself. I'm Katie. I'm just a girl in her mid-twenties that's learning to love herself. I had been overweight since I was a young child and struggled with my body image my entire life.
“When my mother died in a tragic car accident my life spiraled out of control... a year later I took a leap of faith. On the one year anniversary of my mother's death I had gastric sleeve surgery. With the help of my weight loss tool along with drastically changing my diet and running- I lost 130 pounds! I'm almost a year and a half post op now.
“January of this year I underwent an abdominoplasty with breast lift to remove over 4 pounds of excess skin on my body. (I do not discuss the cost because it can seriously vary by thousands of dollars) It's been a bumpy road but I'm finally learning to love myself after all of these years. Just here to share my journey and show y'all you are not alone! Positive vibes only here.”
