More and more women are getting “designer vagina” treatment after testimonials had raved about how it can boost one’s self-confidence and sex life, the Daily Mail reports.

Scientifically known as labiaplasty, the treatment is a surgical procedure that reshapes the vaginal lips into something more desirable. A gynecologist or a plastic surgeon are both licensed to perform this procedure, which could take up to two hours and could cost up to $4,000 if a woman prefers to have it done privately.

A new treatment, Nu-V, had emerged recently and offered lasers as their main tool in reducing the size of the labia. The treatment also increases blood flow to the clitoris and would only take up to fifteen minutes in a clinic. Daily Mail compared it to getting one’s nails done.

Lyndsey Hiatt, a mom of five children, was initially considering to have the surgery but she wasn’t amused by how long the recovery period was going to be. So, when she had the Nu-V treatment during lunch time instead, she back and ready to work again by afternoon.

Due to the treatment, Sara Carson, a cancer survivor, finally had sex for the first time in 18 months. She said it was rejuvenating that she even recommended the procedure to her daughters.

At least 100,000 women underwent the designer vagina treatment in 2015.

One of the women whom Daily Mail had talked to is former model Nicole Francis. Francis, who’s a mom of one, was having frequent leakage in her vagina and not really confident on how it looked.

Francis, 32 years old, said, “I was single at the time and lacking confidence. I wanted to get the treatment for two reasons, firstly I just wanted to bounce on a trampoline with my child without worrying about running to the bathroom, but I also wanted to feel happy to take a new lover to the bedroom.”

She continued, “When I decided to have it done, I had recently been on a holiday to Marbella where the girls ended up comparing themselves and it made me feel very self-conscious, as I looked different down below to some of the others.

“I decided to have the treatment when I got home to tackle the embarrassing issue. Plus, as my son got older he wanted a mum who could bounce on a trampoline and not have to worry about running to the loo.”

When Francis was at the salon, she found out that other women were having the same issues, too.

Nu-V is a procedure that offers vaginal rejuvenation. Operated under Genesis Clinics, the procedure uses a laser to eliminate dead cells away and allow for new cells to form and create moisture.

The price of the procedure could reach up to $550. Since vaginas tend to get dry and exposed to UTI, renewing the cells in the organ not only makes it look prettier, but it also is somehow healthier.
