Two 24 Hour Fitness employees in Texas have been fired after they were caught on camera slapping and shaking two twin toddlers at the gym’s daycare center.
When Tyler Davis first dropped his 18-month-old twin toddlers off at the Houston-area 24 Hour Fitness daycare center while he worked out, he had no idea what his little girls would soon go through.
As KHOU reports, a video taken from inside the daycare shows an employee violently shaking one of the girls before the twins both collapse from extreme dizziness.
Later in the shocking video, a worker can be seen slapping one of Davis’ daughters, a chilling scene that was reportedly shared by the employee on Snapchat.
Tyler and his wife, Arianna, had no clue what happened until they received a call from the gym’s manager a few days later.
“He wanted us to know that one of my daughters had been slapped and it appears that one of the employees had been horse playing with the girls,” Tyler explained.
Arianna was especially horrified when she saw the disturbing footage with her own eyes.
“This one’s walking over and this one is just gonna slap her on the back of her head and make her fall down,” she said.
While the girls’ parents are both extremely angry over what happened to their daughters, they hope they can forgive the two employees for their mistakes.
“Kind of an anger, but then I guess the Christian side of me just said, ‘You know, we have all made a mistake, we’ve all done something wrong. I need to find a way to forgive these people for what they’ve done,’” Tyler said.
24 Hour Fitness has since released the following statement to KHOU:
“At 24 Hour Fitness, we take matters of this nature seriously. Our members and team members’ safety and security are top priorities for us, and our employee training includes protocols for safeguarding member and team member safety. Once we learned about the incident that took place in the Kids Club of our club located at 5270 West Grand Parkway South, Richmond, Texas, we took immediate action. We informed the parents of the child about the incident, as well as local law enforcement. The employees involved in the incident are no longer with the company. Because this was a personnel matter and for the privacy of those involved, we don’t publically discuss details.”
