It's officially that time of year when McDonald's comes out with their special Shamrock Shake! Not only is it an amazing way to celebrate St. Patrick's Day, but it's incredibly delicious!

But what if you're on a diet and you simply can't afford over 500 calories on a small shake?

Make your own, of course! That way you know exactly what and how much is going into your shake--you are the master!

Still, it can be hard to know what makes a good Shamrock shake while keeping the calories low. So, naturally, Mind Over Munch is here to help! Thanks to Alyssia, you can have a tasty vegan Shamrock shake in just minutes without eating too many calories!

Why would a vegan shake be healthier, you ask? Swapping out milk, ice cream, and whipped cream for their vegan alternatives are actually healthy alternatives. For example, in Alyssia's recipe, she uses cashew milk (you can also try almond milk!) which has fewer calories, fewer grams of fat, and less sugar! She also uses a banana and an avocado to add creaminess and sweetness to the shake--both amazing, heart-healthy alternatives to cream!
