It's hard to find a breakfast that's healthy, tastes good, and doesn't take up half of your morning. Overnight oats are the perfect solution: Easy, quick, and filling. Lo Bosworth of The Alternative presents a gluten and dairy-free recipe that can get you hooked on this healthy breakfast craze!

Overnight oats are an extremely popular healthy choice, because they’re easy to prepare and delicious to eat. You can make these right before you go to bed and wake up in the morning to a sweet treat! Oats are high in resistant starch, which means your oats will keep you full for longer than other high-carb breakfasts like bagels or pancakes, and leaving them in milk overnight makes them easy to digest!

This recipe, courtesy of thelodown.com, includes honey, cinnamon, dates, and apples. Give this recipe a try, and then try switching it up by adding some agave, summer berries, or cacao powder! This recipe makes two servings!

Recipe, courtesy of thelodown.com:

  1. 1 cup gluten-free oats
  2. 1 cup (or a bit more) almond milk
    3. 2 Tablespoons honey
    4. 1 Tablespoon chia seeds
    5. Pinch of salt
    6. 2 teaspoons cinnamon
    7. 1 teaspoon nutmeg
    8.  Apples and Dates, sliced into small pieces
    9. Splash of hazelnut extract

What would you put in your overnight oats?
