When you’re paying to stay at a nice hotel, you want to get into bed feeling relaxed. But that’s hard to do if you’re constantly thinking about whether or not the sheets have been washed.
Ever wondered how often hotel sheets get washed? In a perfect world, they would be cleaned the moment you check out, but we all know that doesn’t always happen.
In fact, many hotel workers have anonymously opened up on sites like Whisper to warn others about the cleanliness standards, or lack thereof, in most hotel rooms.
While many agree that the sheets usually do get washed most of the time (not always!), some claim the top blanket actually never sees the inside of a washing machine.
Super gross, right? Now that we know the comforter on any given hotel bed is pretty much swimming in germs, it’s more important than ever to make sure those sheets are as fresh and clean as humanly possible.
Well one smart hotel guest decided to test the theory that the sheets always get washed by placing a simple note underneath the sheets.
The sneaky note read: "If you're reading this, then housekeeping did not wash your sheets."
Obviously, housekeeping would have seen that piece of paper and thrown it away if they did change the sheets, which they didn’t.
While this may not be comforting, at least now you know what to expect during your next hotel stay!
