A Long Island mom claims a doctor in the ER sexually assaulted her during an unexpected exam and made sure there were no witnesses to back up her story.
The unnamed 34-year-old finance executive and mother of two reportedly visited the emergency room at Stony Brook University Hospital on May 23, 2015.
According to the New York Post, the already uncomfortable visit instantly turned sour when she was given an emergency rectal exam.
A police report filed after the incident states that the patient had already been seen by a Gastro physician when two other male doctors walked into the room.
After the two doctors looked at each other, the horrified woman said that one of them ordered her to “roll over.”
As the woman later explained, the rectal exam, which was done without lubricant, felt “extremely painful and rough.”
“I screamed, I told him to stop, he did not stop,” the outraged woman told the New York Post. “He jammed two fingers [inside me] and turned them as hard as he could.”
A hospital report later confirmed that the doctor in question did not use lubricant while performing the exam and a female was not present in the room at the time.
Although the heartless doctor didn’t say a word to the woman once the “exam” was over, he did have a message for the other physician waiting by the door.
“I’m already done, the show’s over,” he reportedly said, according to the alleged victim.
After speaking with the Gastro physician about what had happened to her, the woman was reportedly advised to file and immediate grievance with patient advocacy.
On top of the grievance, the woman also filed a report with Stoney Brook University Police and hired a lawyer, Brett Leitner, to sue the doctor for sexual assault and the hospital for negligence.
