When 37-year-old Ghasi Ram returned home drunk one night, he approached his wife and began to pester her to have sex with him.
Manjhri Devi, 34, refused. For her, it would be just another one of the many refusals she’d given him over the past decade.
But for Ram, it was the tipping point.
After having been married for 17-18 years and having three kids – one daughter and two sons – he was sick and tired of not being able to have a physical relationship with his wife.
This night, when Devi refused Ram once more, he went to the kitchen and grabbed a large knife.
Then, he cut off his genitals.
Ram immediately collapsed to the floor out of pain, prompting Devi to call for a doctor to rush to their home.
In the aftermath, Ram still insists that his wife left him “frustrated.” He said, “We have not had sex for the last ten or twelve years. She would not make love to me.”
He decided to take it even further, “She will not sit close to me and always refuses my demands.”
On the other hand, Devi thinks her husband is out of his mind. “He would come home drinking every night and never listened to me or cared for me,” she explained of her constant denials.
“I just simply told him no to him as he was drunk and I was very angry with him. Now he is blaming me for all this when I have done nothing,” she finished.
There is no word on how the couple will progress their lives together, but Ram remains at home as he recovers. The police have not been contacted to intervene with the situation.
