For Vicky Archer, 15, the past ten weeks have been a complete and utter nightmare.

When Archer was on vacation with her family in Meorca, she got bitten by a mosquito. On the way home, her family began to notice her symptoms slowly developing.

Archer was no longer sleeping properly, wet the bed, and lost some communication skills. The A-student at school was called out for being disruptive and failing to do her work. As more time passed, she became very sensitive to light and noise, developed a severe rash, and started vomiting and bleeding from the mouth.

Archer’s mother is extremely concerned that her daughter’s symptoms will cause long-term damage to her body – but doctors don’t seem to care.

It’s been ten weeks, but they have yet to set a firm date for Archer’s necessary MRI scan, to fully diagnose the problem. As a result, Archer even had to spent her 15th birthday alone, in isolation, because her doctors were concerned she had contracted an infectious disease.

In spite of all this happening, Archer’s doctors still refuse to cooperate. The teen has yet to get her necessary MRI scan, so her mother is now turning to alternative methods: posting photos of her daughter on social media in hopes of garnering enough attention to alert the doctors.

“We are not getting the treatment that she needs because they can't give it until we get the diagnosis. She is such an active young girl who is so full of life. We have been here for ten weeks without a diagnosis. We just need this scan. We can't wait another week,” her mother said.

“It is just heartbreaking.”
