Hava Cebic is an 80-year-old woman from Bosnia and Herzegovina (Europe) who offers to clean people’s eyeballs by licking them with her tongue.
Before performing this cleaning, Cebic sterilizes her mouth by swishing it with alcohol. Then, she has her patients sit down in front of her and close their eyes.
She peels open one of the eyelids and runs her tongue across the eyeball that’s accessible.
Cebic claims she “respects doctors.” “I don’t want to humiliate anyone,” she said, “but only I can take everything out of eyes: iron, lead, wood, everything.”
In the video below, she even shows the camera some of the small fragments she’s managed to remove from her patients’ eyes. She doesn’t, however, tell us what they are exactly.
Cebic is sad that she is the last person she knows who cleans people’s eyeballs with their tongue.
None of her children were willing to learn the skill from her growing up because they thought it was too disgusting.
