A seven years old girl is on her way to the United States of America to have a surgical operation for her rare and possibly fatal condition, according to the Mirror.

Virsaviya Borun-Goncharova, seven years old, was born with her heart beating outside of her chest. The heart is basically a thin layer of skin away from outside. It’s located exactly in between her chest and her abdomen.

According to reports, Virsaviya suffers from throaco-abdominal syndrome. The condition is also known as Pentalogy of Cantrell. The chances of it being acquired by a person is only five in a million.

Virsaviya told BBC, “When I'm getting dressed, I put soft clothes on to not hurt my heart. I walk around, I jump, I fly, I run, I'm not supposed to run but I love running."

Virsaviya, who was born in Russia, is now heading to the US in hopes of getting a surgery for her condition. She would have to take a medication to lower her blood pressure first. If that turned out to be successful, she would be allowed to have the operation.

Dari Borun, the girl’s mother, said, “Doctors told me Virsaviya had a really rare condition. But they said she won't survive. When I saw the first time how her heart was beating, of course to me it was something special. It meant that Virsaviya's alive and she can breathe and she can live."

The girl’s parents were told by doctors in Russia that the girl won’t survive.

The girl’s mom said, “We came from Russia to the US but when doctors checked her they said they could not help her. I was really upset about that because they kept telling me she will die soon.”

She continued, "It's not easy for Virsaviya to live with her heart on the outside because it's really fragile. She has to be careful as of course she can fall and it can be really dangerous - she can die from that."

When she was asked for what she does as a hobby, Virsaviya said, “I like to draw Jesus, ponies, and angels. I don’t go to the school and I don’t go to the ballet but I want to do it at home.”

The little girl added, “My heart is right here. It's outside of my chest and I really love my mom, she's always touching my heart because she likes it."

We hope Virsaviya will finally get the life-changing operation that she truly needed!
